Why Choose Real Choice School Vending?
HET established this scheme to help cut through the confused messages
surrounding what is and what is not healthy or suitable for school
vending. The current recommendations of the School Meals Review
Panel are now out for consultation. These recommendations are set
to transform school meal provision within the next three years and
include relevance to vending practices. Since this is a consultation
process, there may be adjustments and changes to the current recommendations
and HET will incorporate these within the Real Choice scheme as
soon as possible. The Real Choice scheme will provide the reassurance
necessary for schools to be able to establish healthy vending practices
to the benefit of both students and the school.
• Through your registered vending operator (Eagle Vending),
schools will be provided with up to date information regarding product
selections and advice on any suggested products proposed by a school.
• HET plans to produce a regular email newsletter for schools,
providing information on any new products as they become available;
updates on Government plans and legislation regarding school vending
practices; plus other news and ideas for improving school vending
operations- sharing best practice.
• Schools can be assured that the products approved for Real
Choice vending are suitable for healthy school vending without the
need to invest valuable time and resources checking products themselves.
